MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- It’s day one of the FedEx St. Jude Championship, and as thousands flock to see the world’s best golfers at TPC Southwind, local businesses are also reaping the rewards.
Memphis Tourism tells your news leader that the tournament has historically pumped tens of millions of dollars into the Memphis and Shelby County economy, and they're hoping it does the same this year.
“It’s a huge boost for us, business quadruples, it’s definitely a banner week for us. Busiest week of the year, it’s like Christmas in August for us. Everybody benefits from it, the staff, myself, the sales for the restaurant, and this weeks like no other, it really brings everybody together,” said General Manager of East End Grill Chris Fitz.
And Chris tells me a ton of Golfers, Caddies, and TPC Southwin
