GREENVILLE, Ohio (WDTN) -- Bargain seekers are traveling through a portion of the Miami Valley for an annual shopping event.

Spanning 690 miles from Alabama to Michigan, the U.S 127 Yard Sale is occurring on the roadway through Sunday, Aug. 10. In the region, the route runs through Butler, Darke, Mercer and Preble counties.

Josh Randall, director of media relations at the 127 Yard Sale, said the majority of the route is rural communities with the main exceptions of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Cincinnati.

"Most of the towns are very small, little quaint towns or nice little towns with a great sense of community," Randall said. "And they're definitely a great place to visit."
