SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) - A Vermillion man was sentenced to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to one count of First-Degree Rape involving a minor, and one count of Sexual Contact with a child.

According to a press release from the Clay County State's Attorney, 32-year-old Robert Slack was sentenced on Wednesday in Clay County Circuit Court.

On top of his 30-year prison sentence, Slack was ordered to serve 30 years of parole following his release.

According to the 2023 enacted "Truth in Sentencing" law, offenders of certain violent crimes are required to serve their entire penitentiary sentence behind bars. Clay County State's Attorney officials say Slack won't be eligible for parole until November 2054.

Slack's conviction stems from his sexual abuse towards two minor victims. T
