ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A 16-year-old boy is in custody in St. Louis City after being caught two nights in a row for leading officers on chases in cars stolen from rideshare drivers at gunpoint, according to police.

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said around 2 a.m. on Thursday, a Lyft driver picked up several teens at Newstead and Carter in North City. Police said that while the 36-year-old man was driving, one of the passengers held a gun to his head and demanded he get out of the car.

At some point, an hour or so later, police said the car was found, and officers started a pursuit. The 16-year-old driver of the stolen car was taken into custody and remains there.
