Thursday evening update: If you stepped outside today and thought, "Wait... is this really August?" - you're not alone. The wedge is hanging tough with a blanket of clouds and northeast winds driving in cooler and dry air. Highs are well-below average in the mid 70s to near 80 degrees.
For tonight, expect more of the same: cloudy skies and maybe some patchy drizzle. Temperatures will be dipping into the upper 60s.
We'll keep this cooler-than-average trend going as we wrap up the week on Friday. Expect more clouds, but with a slightly better chance for some sunshine compared to today. Temperatures will inch up a bit to the mid 80s, but that is still well below average. If you're southeast of I-20, you'll have the best shot of isolated showers and storms, but most of us will stay dry.
