HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Less than .1% of the population has raced a marathon. It is estimated that the number dips to .0007% for an ultramarathon, which is any race longer than 26.2 miles, like a 50K or 100K.
For a 200-mile race, the number is so small that there isn't data readily available; however, for most 200-mile competitions, finishers range between dozens and a few hundred. One of them lives in North Alabama.
