The City of Macon announced the departure of its City Administrator on Thursday.
According to a Facebook post from the city, the city council "released its City Administrator, Scott Meszaros, from his duties."
The city council is set to begin discussing an interim city administrator in the coming days.
The statement from the city also included a comment from Macon Mayor Tony Petre.
"After long deliberation among the Council, we believe the best interests of the City would be better served by moving in a different direction," Petre said. "We appreciate Mr. Meszaros' hard work, professionalism, and dedication to our city. We wish him success in his future endeavors."
