SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - A man has been taken to the hospital after being hit by a car on I-20 Friday afternoon (Aug. 8).

The Shreveport Police Department says it happened on I-20 E near Spring Street just before 2 p.m. An 18-wheeler broke down on the interstate and was on the shoulder when the wreck happened.

The driver of the rig was standing on the side of the interstate when he was hit by a passing car.

Police say he was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. As of 3 p.m., I-20 E remains closed at this location.
