SPRINGFIELD — The Illinois State Fair is synonymous with tradition. Yet the annual celebration of the state’s robust agriculture industry is constantly reinventing itself — a concept fair organizers are leaning into for the 2025 rendition.
“This year's theme, ‘Adventure Awaits,’ couldn't be more fitting because, whether you're a returning fairgoer or visiting for the first time, you're about to discover something new, exciting and uniquely Illinois around every corner,” said fair director Rebecca Clark.
This extends to one of the main reasons hundreds of thousands of Illinoisans pour through its gates during its 11-day run: the food. Of the 137 food vendors serving fairgoers this year, two dozen are new. And many offer unique items that offer a changeup to the traditional fair fare.
