FORT PIERCE, Fla. (TMX) - A Florida man is facing charges for allegedly hanging a dog and beating it with a stick, then strangling his girlfriend when she confronted him about it.

The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a residence on the 3000 block of South U.S. Highway 1 in Fort Pierce at around 9 p.m. on Tuesday for a reported disturbance.

They arrived to find a woman who said she witnessed her boyfriend, identified as 59-year-old Delfino Rosale, hang one of his dogs from a tree and beat it with a stick.

Delfino Rosales was arrested and charged with battery by strangulation, animal cruelty and child abuse. (St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office)
