FLORENCE, S.C. — A South Carolina man is in custody after a shooting death that was believed to be self-inflicted was later ruled a homicide.

The Florence Police Department said officers were originally called to the 800 block of Bradford Street on July 11. They found a shooting victim in critical condition who was rushed to an area hospital but died. And while the initial report was that the victim shot himself, police said the gun was missing, which led to additional investigation. Autopsy results supported the later findings by police that the death wasn't self-inflicted, as the shot came from roughly two feet away from the victim.

The investigation uncovered a homicide and suggested that Kyzhier Daijon Andretti Williams of Florence was a suspect in the death. He was arrested on Frida
