FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Two people were found dead on Fort Wayne’s northeast side on Saturday.

According to the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, dispatch received a report of a possible domestic battery in progress in the 9300 block of Morning Light Trail around 9 a.m.

Officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, Fort Wayne Police Department, and New Haven Police Department responded to the scene.

When officers arrived on the scene, they say they made entry into the involved apartment and located a man and woman, who were both dead with apparent gunshot wounds.

Detectives with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department and investigators from the Allen County Coroner’s Office are now conducting an investigation.
