ELYRIA, Ohio — The Elyria Police Department has confirmed that the body of 16-year-old Vincent Pabon was found in Black River on Saturday afternoon.

According to a press release, police located Pabon's body using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) at approximately 3 p.m. An emergency crew from the Elyria Fire Department recovered the body from the river and were able to confirm Pabon's identity.

“Our hearts are with Vincent’s family during this unimaginably difficult time,” said Capt. Bill Lantz of the Elyria Police Department. “We extend our deepest condolences and will continue to support them as the investigation continues.”

The investigation is ongoing.
