The Ford government is taking steps to make Ontario a more attractive jurisdiction for mining investments, the province’s minister of Energy and Mines says.

“Our government is unlocking the full potential of our critical minerals through the Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act, 2025,” Stephen Lecce said in a statement. “This is why we are implementing the One Project, One Process model that mandates at least a 50 per cent reduction in government timeline for reviews, introduces a dedicated concierge service to guide proponents, and streamlines approvals — all while upholding our duty to consult with Indigenous communities and maintaining high environmental standards.
