ELKHORN, Neb. (WOWT) - Downed tree limbs were a common sight across a lot of neighborhoods around the metro Saturday.

“We were lucky the tree fell the other way,” Cynthia Kasten, Elkhorn resident said. “…cause the bedroom’s right there.”

A young tree in Kasten’s front yard was no match for the wild weather, she told First Alert 6 she’s leaving the cleanup to the professionals while others weren’t afraid to take matters into their own hands.

“I gotta go out there, pick it up, and start cleaning up.” Kyle Hansen, dropping off storm debris said.
