WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - A fire at Ives Hill Country Club in Watertown around 10 a.m. Sunday has caused damages to the walk-in cooler and freezer of the restaurant kitchen.
Watertown Fire Department said in a press release Sunday that the fire was contained to just the walk-in cooler and freezer before it could reach the kitchen, restaurant, and pro shop.
7 News’ Lexi Bruening reports that no injuries resulted from the fire.
The Watertown Fire Department’s investigation showed the fire was caused by “smoking materials” being improperly discarded, lighting a portion of the wall on fire.
The restaurant will be closed temporarily until repairs are made. The golf club will remain open.
