CHEBOYGAN — The Cheboygan County Fair features many fun attractions, especially for kids.

But there’s one day each year that shines more than others when it comes to entertaining kids. That would be Kids Day , which took place over two hours at the Cheboygan Fairgrounds on Thursday, Aug. 7.

This year’s Kids Day included many of the same popular activities from the past, such as the Sawdust Coin Scramble, which saw kids of different age groups search for coins. Following the coin scramble were sack races, where prizes were also given out.

Overall, the two-plus hour event was another rousing success.

“It’s an amazing event,” said Cheryl Heiny, secretary of the Cheboygan County Fair board. “Kids can register for a free bike. It’s a drawing at the end of our (1-3 p.m.) hour free pe
