WASHOE COUNTY, Nev. (KOLO) - The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is issuing a home loan scam alert after reports of callers posing as mortgage lenders or government agencies, according to a Sunday, Aug. 10, Facebook post.

The scammers claim the residents are in trouble or urgent action is needed.

Here’s a transcription of a recent call.

“Hey Christina.

This is Alan Parrish calling you from the Guild Mortgage regarding your property that you have with us. Eight BLEEP Red Baron Boulevard, Reno, Nevada. And the zip code is 89506.

This property, it’s in foreclosure, and you’re on the edge of losing your property. So if you are willing to explore all the potential options to avoid foreclosure on your property that you have with us, kindly give me a call on (707) 359-1708.
