HANAHAN — A garlic crabs restaurant that previously operated in North Charleston has relocated to Hanahan, where eateries like Cane Pazzo and Kooben Café Mexicano have recently debuted.
Geechie Garlic Crabs & Seafood serves fried whiting, shrimp tacos, lamb chops, po’ boys and crab rice (a best-seller).
But the restaurant’s specialty is “messy but very delicious” blue crabs, lobster, snow crab legs and shrimp, which are sauced and seasoned with owner Roy Walker’s signature blends and butters.
Each is made from scratch, said Walker, a Charleston native who gave his restaurant the name that refers to descendants of enslaved West and Central Africans living in the coastal Southeast.
