The Oakland Literacy Council is looking for volunteer tutors for high school equivalency curriculum, math, reading, digital literacy, and English for adults who live, work or go to school in Oakland County.
Tutoring can be done virtually or in person and tutors are asked to commit for at least one year and to meet at least two hours per week year-round. No experience is needed, and all ongoing support will be provided.
They also help adults prepare for trade exams or other job training.
Volunteers will be asked to attend a virtual 30-minute information session to learn more about adult literacy and the council’s mission.
Contact Dinah Ramirez, volunteer engagement coordinator at (248) 253-1617 for more information.
