MOUNT PLEASANT — While driving in the downpour that caused an emergency flash flood warning on Aug. 11, an officer’s dash camera footage captured video of lightning that struck a power line.

The footage — that the Mount Pleasant Police Department later posted to their social media accounts set to the tune of AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” — shows the bolt striking a power line, causing a plume of fire to quickly ignite and sparks to fly on the other side of the road.

“A bit too much excitement for a Monday!” the post read. No one was injured in the incident.
