ST. CHARLES COUNTY (First Alert 4) -School districts in St. Charles County could soon partner with the county’s Department of Emergency Communications, paving the way for more efficient responses to school emergencies.

On Monday night, the St. Charles County Council will vote on Bill 5408, which if passed, would allow the districts to enter into an agreement with the department on a voluntary basis. In doing so, the maps would be stored in the CAD system, or computer aided dispatch system, allowing 911 dispatchers to use the maps to aid responding police officers, firefighters or EMTs responding to an emergency call at any given school.
