BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – Kern County’s most popular tourist attraction, the Crystal Palace, has closed. After more than a year on the market, the Buck Owens family has opted to shutter the famous venue on Buck Owens Boulevard.
Twenty eight years after its opening, the world has changed. That’s the word from the Buck Owens family, which made the announcement Monday morning.
The concert venue, dinner club and museum, which the late country music legend opened in 1996, held its final event last weekend, a two-night Buck Owens Birthday Bash featuring Buck’s son Johnny Owens.
