PATERSON, N.J. (PIX11) -- After four days, the Passaic Valley Water Commission says crews were finally able to locate the leak in the 30-inch water main and plug it.

While this is good news for many, it will still take some time for full pressure to be restored.

The boil advisory for Paterson and Prospect Park remains in effect. Residents will need to boil water for at least one minute before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, or making ice.

Even though the next few days will be hot, residents are asked not to water lawns and gardens or open hydrants.

The comfort station will once again open at 8 a.m. with the showers and toilets at John F. Kennedy High School. Bottled water will be handed out at North 8th Street and Oxford starting at noon.
