If you remember filling out a form from Lufkin Parks and Recreation about what you would like to see in our local parks, the things that we asked for are starting to come to pass. Only 900 of those surveys were sent back, but that was enough for the city to see that we all valued the same things at our parks.

According to KTRE , the city is moving forward with its master plan to improve parks and recreational areas all around Lufkin. Kendig Keast Collaborative out of Houston worked with the city to create the plan.

Most of the ten improvements that we want the most will improve the safety of our parks and address aging playground equipment. Safety will come in the way of more lighting, and the second priority of disc golf and pickleball courts is well on its way.
