PEPPER PIKE, Ohio -- The Orange City School District’s two school resource officers have assured the Board of Education that the district will continue to have a strong police presence on its campus this coming academic year.

“You’re going to see the Moreland Hills Police Department on the school campus probably pretty significantly, as we have in years past,” Moreland Hills Patrolman Scott Bennett told the board Monday (Aug. 11).

“At any given time, there could be four (police officers), especially in the mornings and afternoons. That commitment is going to remain.”

Bennett and his brother, Pepper Pike Police Officer Todd Bennett, serve as the district’s school resource officers (SROs).

The board renewed their contracts as SROs for another year in July.
