CHESHIRE, Conn. — A man was injured and another remains missing after a house fire in Cheshire Tuesday morning, according to fire officials.

Cheshire fire crews responded to a home on Brookside Place just after 3 a.m. Tuesday.

One man was sent to the hospital, and another man is missing, according to Cheshire Fire Chief Jack Casner. The extent of the hospitalized man's injuries is not known at this time.

The fire caused the second floor to collapse onto the first floor, and the house is a total loss, fire officials said.

None of the neighboring homes were damaged.

Crews are working to find the missing man and to determine the cause of the fire.
