Emmerdale star Joe Absolom has admitted that EastEnders ‘felt rushed’ to him, 25 years after his exit from the BBC soap.
The 46-year-old rose to fame on Albert Square in 1997, when he joined as Matthew Rose, a role he played for the next three years.
Matthew’s biggest storyline arrived when Joe was framed for the murder of his ex-girlfriend Saskia Duncan, for which he was wrongfully imprisoned.
Eventually released from prison, Joe’s exit saw him get revenge on his boss Steve Owen, who killed Saskia Duncan, by getting a video of him begging for mercy after pulling a gun with no bullets on him.
Soap fans were delighted to see Joe turn up on ITV ’s Emmerdale earlier in the summer as drug dealer villain Ray Walters.
