LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Tuesday officially marks the first day of school for kindergarteners, 6th graders, and 9th graders at Lincoln Public Schools.
John Skretta, the district’s interim superintendent, who has been serving in the position since January, said he’s excited for the school year.
Last school year, there was anxiety around federal funding hold-ups towards learning programs offered at LPS; particularly during the summer, when many families rely on programs for their children.
LPS interim superintendent explained that while the money is going to come through, the district is prepared to fight for it to stay that way.
