DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — Both people shot in a double shooting in Durham this week have died, police said Tuesday.

According to the Durham Police Department, the shooting happened on Monday around 3 p.m. in the 600 block of East Knox Street. Officers responding to the scene found two individuals, a man and a woman, with gunshot wounds.

Police said the man, 23-year-old Damien Tinsley, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman, 21-year-old London Powers of Durham, suffered life-threatening injuries. She was taken to a hospital, where she later died, according to Durham police.

Police said Tinsley is the suspect in the shooting, which appears to be an isolated incident.

No further information about the shooting has been provided as of late Tuesday morning.
