The body of a Dearborn boater who went missing last weekend in Lake Erie was recovered on Tuesday, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office announced.

The original incident occurred Sunday at approximately 5:49 p.m. near Sterling State Park in Frenchtown Township, when Hussein Hassoun was reported missing in the lake after jumping from a white 34-foot Baja boat, officials said.

On Tuesday, members of the Monroe County Sheriff's Office Marine Division resumed search efforts in the area where the 23-year-old boater was last seen in the water.

During the search, a boater in the area reported they had located a body at approximately 8:45 a.m. The Marine Division responded to the area and recovered the body.
