BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) -- A man with a warrant out for his arrest on drug charges attempted to eat a bag of suspected heroin, plastic bag and all, during a traffic stop this weekend, according to an incident report.

An officer with the Boardman Police Department was on patrol in the area of Boardman Poland Road near Bristlewood Drive when a car with Pennsylvania plates made an improper turn, drove outside the marked lanes, and failed to use a turn signal, prompting the officer to initiate a traffic stop, reports state.

As the officer approached the stopped vehicle, he noticed the driver, identified as Thomas Barber, "placing a plastic bag in his mouth in an attempt to eat the contents," the report states. The officer said he told Barber to stop eating "whatever he was eating," and grabbed
