SOUTHBURY, Conn. (WFSB) - Police in Southbury say a woman accused of abandoning a dog in a parking lot has been arrested.

The dog was found by local store owners in Bennett Square with no water and in need of medical attention.

“They eventually got some camera footage in the next couple days that showed he was left. Tied off, and then the owner left,” said Det. Brianna Critelli, Southbury Police Department. “He was just starting straight off into the distance, like, looking for his owner, whoever had dropped him off.”

Reggie, a Pitbull mix, was found abandoned in the parking lot last February.

“He was in pretty rough shape. He had some obvious skin conditions,” Critelli said.
