KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) — Kingsport Parks and Recreation kicked off its first-ever NFL FLAG Football season over the weekend, joining 1,800 leagues nationwide to participate in the sports program.
A news release from the City said this is the first year of Kingsport hosting an official NFL FLAG Football season, which was brought here in partnership between the City of Kingsport and the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Kingsport.
The first day of the season kicked off at J. Fred Johnson Stadium on Saturday with several special appearances, including former Dobyns-Bennett High School Football Coach Graham Clark and Milligan University's Head Flag Football Coach Ryan Whitten, along with Lady Buffs players Blakelee Ollis, Ashton Whearley and Christian Davis.
"The hands-on experience gave the
