ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Congressman Joe Morelle met with residents at Episcopal Senior Life Community's Valley Manor on Tuesday to discuss potential threats to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.
The discussion highlighted concerns about a budget bill that could lead to the closure of over 500 nursing homes, cut food assistance for nearly 3 million Americans, and remove health coverage from about 15 million Americans.
"In NYS alone 60,000 nursing home residents depend on Medicaid to pay for their care, without it they face the terrifying prospect of losing support that they need to continue to live," Congressman Joe Morelle said.
