OMAHA, Neb. —

Aldrich Elementary School students are returning to class with the theme "Ready, Set, Grow," highlighting learning and relationship-building as the new school year starts.

"We try to think of a theme that will resonate with everybody," said principal Dayna Burke. "There's always something for us to learn. We're ready, we're set and we're gonna grow."

One of the fifth graders expressed her excitement about learning new things and history.

Burke emphasized the importance of building stronger relationships with students and their families.

"I always want to focus on building stronger relationships with the students, with their families, just always looking for ways to make kids feel more at home," said Burke.
