Louisville's flagship university employs more than 6,500 people, from custodians to coaches and dozens of jobs in between that each play a vital role in making the campus function for more than 20,000 students.

A few University of Louisville staff members (all athletic coaches) make millions of dollars each year in their positions, while the starting wage at the school is $15 an hour for early childhood assistant teachers, custodians and security guards, according to a salary database obtained through an open records request.

Most professors earn at least $80,000 annually, though hundreds are clearing a few hundred thousand dollars.
