AUSTIN (KXAN) — Travis County said it was switching up how it manages public comments.
Beginning Aug. 19, the county said it would transition to a new online system for public comments during commissioners court voting sessions, work sessions and other special-called meetings.
The online registration window for regular meetings will be between 8 p.m. two nights before the meeting and 8 a.m. the day of the meeting. According to the county, special-called meetings could have different registration timelines.
The meetings will continue to allow both remote and in-person commenters; however, speaking time limits are set at the discretion of the commissioners' court, according to the county.
