HILLIARD, Ohio — The interactive pool at the Hilliard Family Aquatic Center will be closed for the rest of the season, the city announced on Tuesday.
The city's Recreation and Parks Department said its pump system's variable frequency driver failed, likely because of a lightning strike.
There is no easy or quick to get it operational, the city says. The system needs a full replacement and repairs can't be made in time to reopen it before it closes, according to the city.
"We understand how disappointing this news is, especially as we approach the end of summer. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we prioritize safety and reliability," the city said in a Facebook post.
The main pool will stay open for the rest of the season, which will end Aug. 20.
