COLUMBUS, Ohio — Several Ohio counties that were significantly impacted by severe weather events this year will receive state funding, Gov. Mike DeWine announced Wednesday.
Authorized by DeWine , the State Disaster Relief Program (SDRP) will assist 12 counties which experienced damages meeting a countywide per capita indicator.
DeWine's authorization allows the Ohio Emergency Management Agency to request funding from the Ohio Controlling Board.
SDRP is a reimbursement program that can be used when storm damage amounts do not meet the threshold for federal assistance but do meet state program requirements.
The disaster relief program will aid these counties which experienced severe storms and flooding over the following time periods:
Jackson County
Athens
Clermont
Hamilton
Jackso
