A severe thunderstorm warning was released by the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 1:27 p.m. in effect until 2 p.m. for Delaware and Otsego counties.

The storms may bring wind gusts of up to 60 mph and quarter-sized hail (1 inch).

"At 1:27 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located near Jefferson, or 11 miles southwest of Cobleskill, moving northeast at 30 mph," describes the weather service. "Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees."

Locations impacted by the warning include Davenport, Stamford, Butts Corner and Fergusonville.

According to the weather service, "For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building."
