GRAND FORKS — A 64-year-old Grand Forks resident sustained minor injuries Wednesday, Aug. 13, after being struck by a vehicle while he was walking through a downtown crosswalk.

The Grand Forks Police Department was dispatched at 3:12 p.m. to the intersection of Kittson Avenue and South Fifth Street, according to a GFPD press release.

Officers' preliminary investigation revealed that a black 2023 GMC Sierra was turning north on South Fifth Street from Kittson Avenue when it struck a pedestrian who was crossing through the designated crosswalk.

The driver was identified as 46-year-old Monica Aguirre, of East Grand Forks, according to the release.

The pedestrian, Patrick Peltier, was transported by Altru Ambulance for apparent minor injuries that resulted from the crash.
