FALL RIVER, Mass. —

Wednesday marks one month since flames tore through an assisted living facility in Fall River, Gabriel House, killing 10 residents in the deadliest fire in Massachusetts in more than 40 years.

"It's not far from my mind at any time of day," says Mayor Paul Coogan. He tells us his team has been committed to helping those who survived find new permanent homes, which is still a struggle.

He also wants to know exactly what went wrong, saying he has been told the sprinklers didn't work as they should have.

"Some of the sprinklers went off, others didn't, so it was kind of hit or miss on what was going on with the sprinkler head. And I have not heard what they found that would cause that to happen, but that's not the way that's supposed to work," Mayor Coogan says.
