BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — A big difference is being made for those affected by tinnitus in North Dakota with a new FDA-approved treatment.

Dr. Amanda Leddige is an audiologist at the Alliance Center for Hearing in Bismarck.

She shares what exactly this diagnosis is, "So tinnitus is essentially a noise in your ears. A lot of people describe it as a ringing, it can also be a roaring, or buzzing sound. Some people even have a musical quality to their tinnitus."

Some form of tinnitus affects more than 50 million Americans across the nation, and many go on leaving it untreated. But to help solve this problem, those with the Alliance Center for Hearing say it's the first clinic in North Dakota to be certified to provide the Lenire Tinnitus treatment device.
