You may face some hash penalties if you do not follow the law
It is a legal requirement for children to receive full-time education which entails a child remaining in school - or receiving home education - until the last Friday in June of the school year in which they turn 16. However there are some cases where you do not need to send them to school.
Harsh penalties can be imposed if pupils miss out on school or home-schooling and in many instances, the school or the local council's education welfare officer will contact parents. This could even result in prosecution, although parents usually receive warnings and offers of assistance from the local council first.
Each parent can be fined £60 by the council, which increases to £120 if not paid within three weeks. After four weeks o
