The Toledo Mud Hens were no-hit through six innings and could not muster up the offense for a comeback, falling 2-0 to the Columbus Clippers at Fifth Third Field on Wednesday.

Columbus got on the board first in the bottom of the third inning as Christian Cairo led off with a triple, and following a pair of strikeouts, Travis Bazzana drove in Cairo with a single for a 1-0 lead. Bazzana, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 MLB draft by Cleveland, was just called up to Triple-A on Sunday.

Toledo (63-53) did not register its first hit until Trei Cruz, the hero from Tuesday’s series opener, collected a two-out single off Columbus reliever Tim Herrin in the bottom of the seventh.
