INDIANAPOLIS — Residents on the near east side of Indianapolis gave their input on the proposed plans for a major redesign of the area near 10th and Rural streets on Wednesday.
Some of the smaller work has already begun, but the bulk of the construction starts later this year.
The goal is to make the major commercial and residential corridors safer for both drivers and pedestrians.
Neighbors were excited to see the plans for the near east side streetscape redesign. The community's a popular spot for people on bike and on foot. That's a big draw, but people agreed safety improvements are needed.
"If you want to have strong schools, you need a safe way to get there," resident Landon Davison said.
