SMITHFIELD – With the first day of the 2025-2026 school year approaching on Aug. 26, Supt. Dawn Bartz recently toured Smithfield High School to get a look at the work accomplished over this summer.
Six classrooms at the high school along the “main drag” past the main offices were upgraded. Staffers painted the classrooms a soft blue, replaced ceiling tiles, and new furniture is expected to arrive early during the school year.
Computers in both the middle and high schools were updated with new software. Bartz said the middle school’s more than 10-year-old computers were replaced with high-speed gaming computers.
“I think the kids are going to love it,” Bartz said.
