MESQUITE, Texas — A Mesquite family says they’re grateful to be alive after an alleged drunk driver plowed through their living room in the early hours of Sunday morning, but they’re frustrated the man accused is already out of jail on a $1,000 bond.

It happened around 2 a.m. at the home of Antonio Navarro off of Concord, who says he was jolted awake by the sound of what he thought was a loud explosion. Navarro told WFAA he thought he was dreaming.

"It wasn’t until the alarm started going off and I was like, okay, yeah, this is really happening,” Navarro said.
