Kidney failure is a silent crisis across this country. In the 22nd Congressional District alone, there are more than 1,500 people on dialysis, and roughly 315 of them die each year. These deaths are not inevitable. If a train derailed and killed hundreds of New Yorkers annually, we would spring into action. We need to do the same for those quietly suffering and dying from kidney failure.
